Luis Vera
A Fulbright and Ford MacArthur Scholar, he is a law graduate from the Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico). He has also received a postgraduate degree in Economic and Corporate Law from Universidad Panamericana and a Masters degree with honors in Environmental and Energy Law from Tulane University (USA). Currently, he is a candidate for a juris doctorate in Environmental Sciences at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Environmental Studies and Development at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico). He represents Mexico at the Science and Technology Development Program at the United Nations and is a member of the Mexico-US Counsel for Academic Exchange. President of the Fulbright Scholars Association in Mexico, he is also the coordinator and professor for several postgraduate courses (masters programs as well as diplomas) in environmental law, policy and management in Mexico and abroad. His areas of expertise include: environmental impact, environmental matters in connection to infrastructure projects, international arbitration, biotechnology, commercial transactions with recognized environmental conditions, drafting of environmental legislation, wetlands, and environmental land management, materials, wastes and soils.
